What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember things like your preferences, and let us understand how the site is used.
Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| tccn-cookie-consent | Remembers your cookie choice. | Essential | 1 year |
| sb-* | Authentication session for the admin area. | Essential | Session |
| tccn-visitor-id | Anonymous visitor identifier used for analytics if you accept. | Analytics | 1 year |
| tccn-session-id | Groups pages into a single visit for dwell-time reporting. | Analytics | Session |
| tccn-demographics-asked | Remembers we've already offered you the optional demographic questions. | Essential | 1 year |
What analytics we collect (only if you accept)
- Anonymous visitor and session IDs (stored in your browser).
- Pages you view, referring page, and time spent on each page.
- Which links and buttons you click.
- Zoom actions (pinch-zoom or browser zoom-in), used as a rough proxy for "what got looked at closely".
- Approximate country, derived from your IP address at the moment of the request. Your IP address is hashed with a secret salt before it is stored — we never keep the raw IP.
- Optional and voluntary: gender, age range, and whether you're in the VCFSE (voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise) sector — only if you fill in the short prompt after accepting.
We do not and cannot detect screenshots — browsers don't expose that. We do not share this data with third parties; it's used to improve the site and to report anonymised usage to funders.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. Doing so may break parts of the site that need them (for example, signing in to the admin area).
To change your consent on this site, clear your browser's site data for this domain and reload the page — the cookie banner will reappear.
To have your analytics data deleted, email us with the visitor ID stored in your browser (Application → Local Storage → tccn-visitor-id) and we'll remove all matching records.
